Rock musician. Born in Dalkeith, Fish acquired his soubriquet because he spent long periods in the bath, attempting to get the better of a landlady who charged for the pleasure!
Fish joined progressive rock band Marillion in 1981 and led the band to international success. Their hits include Garden Party (1983) and Kayleigh (1985), with albums including Recital of the Script (1983), Fugazi (1984), Clutching at Straws (1987). In 1988, Fish left Marillion, citing 'musical differences' and began his solo career.
His recent work includes the album Sunsets On Empire (1997).
