Risabus


Argyll and Bute

A small settlement on the Oa peninsula in the S of island of Islay, Risabus lies a quarter-mile (0,4 km) southwest of Coillabus. It comprises a pair of houses and the shell of the Oa Parish Church, which closed in 1930. There was also a small school here. The name includes the distinctly Norse suffix 'bus' meaning farm or homestead.
