Gartocharn

West Dunbartonshire

A small village in West Dunbartonshire, Gartocharn lies to the northeast of Balloch and south of Loch Lomond. The conical Duncryne Hill, also known as 'the dumpling', rises to 141 m (462 feet) on the nearby line of the Highland Boundary Fault and at Ross Priory on the shore of Loch Lomond Sir Walter Scott wrote parts of The Lady of the Lake and Rob Roy.
