Lochearnhead

Stirling

Situated at the western end of Loch Earn and at the foot of Glen Ogle, Lochearnhead lies 31 miles (49.5 km) northwest of Stirling. It developed from the 18th century in association with road and rail transport and is now a centre for tourism and watersports on the loch. English author Charles Dickens (1812-70) stayed here for three nights working on his novel Barnaby Rudge while on a tour of the Highlands in 1841.
