The Ferguslie Park I remember growing up their as a young boy was of tended gardens happy folk who liked to celebrate the weekend with a few parties. Sadly as the industry within Paisley and the surrounding area began to decline and unemployment began to rise, those who had once been hard working employees bringing great wealth to Paisley and indeed scotland became forgotton by successive administrations in the local council's. The recognition by the government that the area was in need of redevelopment was in my opinion missguided instead of Ploughing money into Construction and demolishion of Bricks and mortar they should have been focusing on creating new businesses in the manufacturing and speciality industries. Take heed any planners reading this you need to create strategies that look after people in the long term, Not fancy new building projects in the short term that make you look good for a few months of political sound bytes. - Chris Copland (chris@chriscopland.com)
