A small settlement with a church and a farm in E Aberdeenshire, Kirkton (or Kirkton of Kinellar) is situated a mile (1.8 km) north northwest of Blackburn. The parish church was rebuilt here in 1801, on the site of the former church and next to a stone circle. This grey-slated rectangular building features a small bellcote and is surrounded by a small graveyard. The church is now closed and the building was sold in 2005. The former manse is located just to the southwest.
