Caldercruix


North Lanarkshire

A village of North Lanarkshire, Caldercruix is located on the North Calder Water, 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Plains and 4 miles (7 km) northeast of Airdrie. Hillend Reservoir lies a half-mile (1 km) to the east of the village. Taking its name from the 'crooks' or windings on the river, Caldercruix developed in the 19th century in association with mining and paper making.
