A settlement at the mouth of Allt Mhic Chiarain in Sunart, Resipole lies 2 miles (3 km) east of Salen. To the east Beinn Resipol rises to 845m (2774 feet) between Loch Shiel to the north and Loch Sunart to the south. There is a camping and caravan park here. To the southwest are the Sunart Oakwoods, one of the few areas of ancient Caledonian Oak Forest still remaining and designated a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
