The settlement of Lyth is located 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Castletown in the Caithness district of Highland Council. Essentially, a collection of scattered farming and crofting holdings, it has its own arts centre which exhibits local and national artists. There is an Ordnance Survey primary triangulation pillar at the roadside.
