Kinlochmoidart

(Ceann Loch Muideirt)
Highland

A scattered settlement lying on the A861 road near the head of Loch Moidart in the West Highlands, Kinlochmoidart (Gael: Ceann Loch Muideirt) is located 3¾ miles (6 km) northeast of Acharacle. Kinlochmoidart House, to the east, dates from 1884. St. Finan's Episcopal Church was built in 1858 and contains fine stained glass windows by Jemima Blackburn (1823 - 1909). The church was restored and re-opened in 1965. The Seven Men of Moidart is a line of beech trees commemorating the seven companions who joined Prince Charles Edward Stuart on his voyage from France to Scotland in 1745. There is a jetty and disused pier to the west.
