Inverarish

Highland

A small scattered hamlet that represents the largest settlement on the island of Raasay in the Inner Hebrides, Inverarish lies a half-mile (0.8 km) southeast of the ferry pier at Clachan. The most prominent houses are two rows of cottages separated by their gardens, which include a post-office and shop. Also located here are the Raasay Heritage Trust museum, Raasay Community Hall, Raasay Primary School, two churches and the community fire station. The roads are bordered with pink-flowering rhododendrons, escapees from the policies of nearby Raasay House.
