A location in N Caithness, Highland Council Area, Dunnet lies on the road between Thurso and John o' Groats, 5 miles (8 km) south of Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the Scottish mainland. In addition to tourist facilities including a hotel and caravan site, there is a museum and visitor centre. The celebrated cartographer the Reverend Timothy Pont was minister of Dunnet in 1601-14.
