Castlehill


Highland

A location in N Caithness, Highland Council Area, Castlehill lies adjacent to Castletown on the Pentland Firth, 4 miles (6.6 km) east of Thurso. The dairy of a large farm steading operates as an interpretative centre for the Castlehill Quarries which once produced Caithness flagstones that were shipped out from the Castlehill Harbour. The wide triangular quay was designed by James Bremner c.1820.
