A former village on the south coast of Fife, Pathhead is now a suburb of Kirkcaldy. It was originally situated at the top of a steep path that led up from the mouth of the Den Burn. In the 18th century Pathhead was a noted centre for the production of nails and in 1807 Alex Robertson in Pathhead invented a spring-loaded flax heckling device. Path House dates from 1692, while Pathhead Hall (1883) was converted into a Leisure Centre in 1995.
