A village of northeast Fife, Luthrie lies some 6 miles (10 km) north of Ladybank, just off the A 92 trunk road from Kirkcaldy to the Tay Bridge, to the north of the Parbroath crossroads. At one time Luthrie station (closed in 1951) was one of the most important stops on the North British Railway's North Fife line.
