Strathbungo

Glasgow City

Once a crofting and then a mining village, Strathbungo is now a suburb of Glasgow, located between Shawlands and Pollokshields. The elegant Moray Place was designed by noted architect Alexander 'Greek' Thomson (1817-75) and much of the district was designated a conservation area in 1973. Designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868 - 1928) lived here, at 27 Regent Park Square.

Nearby are Pollok Country Park, Pollok House and the Burrell Collection.
