The small hamlet of Longyester lies to the north of the Lammermuir Hills, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Gifford. Yester House lies a mile to the north. Hopes House, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the southeast, was restored and extended by Nicholas Groves-Raines Architects to form a shooting lodge complex.
