A farm and small settlement of Annandale in Dumfries and Galloway, Old Graitney lies immediately southwest of Gretna and overlooks the mouth of the Kirtle Water as it enters the Solway Firth. The Lochmaben Stone lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the south, near the site of decisive Scottish victory over the English at the Battle of Sark in 1448.
