Tibbers

Dumfries and Galloway

A location in Nithsdale, Dumfries and Galloway, Tibbers lies on a promontory of the Drumlanrig Estate in the midst of Tibbers Wood. A castle was built here in 1298 by Sir Richard Siward, Sheriff of Dumfries. The castle, which was visited by King Edward I of England after his victory at the Battle of Falkirk, later passed to the Dunbar Earls of March and then to the Maitlands of Auchen.
