A hamlet in Dumfries and Galloway, Old Bridge of Urr lies on the Urr Water, nearly 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Castle Douglas. The river is crossed here by a two-span bridge which bears two panels dating from 1580. Downstream is the Mill of Urr, complete with water-wheel, millstones and corn-drying kiln.
