Davington

Dumfries and Galloway

A small settlement in Eskdale, Dumfries and Galloway, Davington lies on the White Esk, 6 miles (10 km) south of Ettrick. A meteorological observatory was built near here in 1904-07, taking advantage of the clear, unpolluted country air and is today known as the Eskdalemuir Observatory. To the south is the Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Centre developed around an old farmhouse from 1967.
