Located 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of Thornhill in Dumfries and Galloway, the industrial hamlet of Cample lies on the course of the Cample Water in Nithsdale. The settlement developed in conjunction with a spinning mill. A traditional red-sandstone terraced cottage here was refurbished by the BBC television programme DIY SOS in 2013.
