A small village of the Scottish Borders, Midlem lies 4 miles (6.5 km) southeast of Selkirk and to the north of the Langhope Burn. Midlem Airfield is a grass airstrip, lying to the east, while to Midlem Burn, to the south, is a tributary of the Ale Water.
