Bonchester Bridge

Scottish Borders

A hamlet to the south of Teviotdale in the Scottish Borders, Bonchester Bridge lies on the Rule Water, 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Hawick. Bonchester Hill, which is topped by a fort, rises to 322m (1059 feet) to the east. Produced here from the milk of Jersey cows, the soft Bonchester cheese was awarded Protected Geographical Indication status by the European Union in 1998.
