Jedfoot

A location in the SE Scottish Borders, Jedfoot lies on the A698 road, a half-mile (0.8 km) northeast of Bonjedward and 2 miles (3 km) north northeast of Jedburgh. Jedfoot Bridge carries the road over the Jed Water, which falls into the River Teviot a quarter-mile (0.4 km) to the north. There was once a station here on the Jedburgh Railway, a branch line which opened in 1856 but closed to passengers in 1948 and to freight in 1964. The old trackbed now provides the route for the Borders Abbeys Way.
