A location comprising a farm and associated cottages in the Rhins of Galloway, Smithy Hill lies a half-mile (0.9 km) south southwest of Craigencross. The settlement takes its name from a modest hill which rises to the south. There is a waste-water treatment plant here, operated by Scottish Water.
