Kilmalid

An industrial location on the left bank of th River Leven in West Dunbartonshire, Kilmalid lies 1¼ miles (2 km) north of the centre of Dumbarton. Kilmalid is the site of Chivas Brother's immense whisky blending and bottling plant, built by George Ballantine & Son but now a subsidiary of the Pernod Ricard conglomerate. In 2019 a new bottling hall was constructed here with an investment of £50 million. Kilmalid appears in 1864 on the First Edition of the Ordnance Survey map as a simple farmstead.
