A location in the Buchan district of NE Aberdeenshire, Culsh lies a mile (1.5 km) north of New Deer and 2½ miles (4 km) west of Maud. The location comprises a collection of farms (Mid Culsh, Hilton of Culsh, Mains of Culsh, North Mains of Culsh and South Culsh) which lie around the Hill of Culsh, which is topped by the prominent Culsh Monument. Also located here is a sizeable cemetery, which includes the grave of the financier Bertie Forbes (1880 - 1954), who founded Forbes Magazine.
