Cross Stobbs

A northern suburb of Barrhead in East Renfrewshire, Cross Stobbs began as a small settlement at the junction of what is now Grahamston Road with Caplethill Road, a half-mile (1 km) north northwest of the town centre. The Cross Stobbs Inn remains in 19th C. rustic premises, but residential development began with semi-detached Edwardian villas along the west side of Paisley Road and then bungalows in the 1930s to the east. Further residential development has continued in the later 20th C. and into the 2020s.
