A hamlet in Argyll and Bute, Tayinloan is situated on the western coast of the Kintyre Peninsula, 2 miles (3 km) south of Rhunahaorine Point. Tayinloan benefits from a post office and shop, while a ferry connects a terminal a half-mile (0.8 km) northwest of the settlement with Ardminish on the island of Gigha. The community is served by a primary school located 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the north northeast at Rhunahaorine.
