A hamlet in the Benderloch district of N Argyll and Bute, North Connel lies on the north shore of Loch Etive, just to the west of the Connel Bridge, 4½ miles (7 km) northeast of Oban. Between 1904 and 1966 there was a railway station here, the first on the Ballachulish branch of the Callander and Oban Railway. The Connel Airfield (also known as Oban Airport) lies immediately to the west.
