Lying at the head of Airds Bay, the village of Port Appin overlooks the Lynn of Lorn, the northern part of the island of Lismore, and Loch Linnhe. Lying on the eastern shore of the loch, Port Appin lies 2 miles (3 km) southwest of Portnacroish and 10 miles (16 km) north northeast of Oban.
