Rhunahaorine

Argyll and Bute

A location and indistinct agricultural settlement on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Rhunahaorine is located on the A83 trunk road 1½ miles (2.5 km) north northeast of Tayinloan. There is an isolated roadside primary school here, with a roll of 27 (2002), and the remains of Old Largie Castle which was once a stronghold of the MacDonalds of Largie. Rhunahaorine Point lies 1¼ miles (2 km) to the west northwest, with the Rhunahaorine Burn entering the sea just to the northeast of that.
