Heylipol

(Heylipoll)
Argyll and Bute

A small linear settlement in W Central Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, Heylipol (also Heylipoll) is located 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Crossapoll. A smart little church here was built in local granite (1901-02) with contrasting ashlar dressings. It is said to resemble Iona Abbey and alternates in use for Sunday services with the church at Kirkapol. The primary school here closed in 1975.
