A hamlet with a church in northwest Aberdeenshire, the Kirktown of Alvah lies between the Hill of Alvah (176m / 578 feet) and the River Deveron, 2 miles (3 km) south of Banff. To the northwest is St Colme's well, a holy well that once used to supply water to Banff.
