Lunan

Angus

A hamlet in an Angus parish of the same name, Lunan lies close to the mouth of the Lunan Water where it enters Lunan Bay, 4 miles (6 km) southwest of Montrose. The parish church was rebuilt in 1844, one of its priests in the 16th Century being Walter Mill (1476 - 1558), one of the last of the Scottish martyrs to be burned at St Andrews. Near Lunan House are the ruins of a doocot and an ice-house.
