Kirkton of Tealing

Angus

A hamlet with a church in the S Angus parish of Tealing, the Kirkton of Tealing lies a half-mile (1 km) west of Tealing village and 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Dundee. Its pre-Reformation church, now unused, was built in 1806. The Rev. John Glass (1695 - 1773), founder of the Glassite movement, was minister of Tealing from 1719 until he was deposed in 1728. The remains of the former RAF Tealing, a World War II training base, lies a quarter-mile (0.4 km) to the south.
