Baugh

Argyll and Bute

A settlement of Tiree, Argyll and Bute, Baugh lies on the island's southern coast, a mile (1.5 km) southwest of Scarinish and 2 miles (3 km) east of Crossapoll. Located here are a Baptist Church (c.1856) and a granite obelisk which serves as a monument to Tiree's long-serving medical officer, Dr. Alexander Buchanan (1835 - 1911). Baugh Cottage is a house in the vernacular style which was, for a long-time, the home of said doctor, but now provides self-catering holiday accommodation. To the southwest lies Hynish Bay while to the northwest lies the island's airport.
