Dibidil

Highland

A location and abandoned settlement on the southeast coast of Rum in the Inner Hebrides, Dibidil looks out across the Sound of Rum towards the island of Eigg, 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Kinloch. The name is of Norse origin. Access is via a footpath which contours about the coastal cliffs. Only one roofed building remains - Dibidil Bothy, which is freely accessible for hillwalkers staying overnight. There is evidence of a rig and furrow cultivation system and walled enclosures.
