War Memorial, Dallas

A small village with a single street, Dallas lies on the River Lossie, 9 miles (14 km) southwest of Elgin in Moray. It was relocated to its present site in 1811, a mediaeval mercat cross in the kirkyard being the remnant of an earlier kirkton settlement. The church dates from 1793 and Dallas Lodge from 1901. A half-mile (0.8 km) to the north stands the remains of Tor Castle built in 1400 by Sir Thomas Cumming of Altyre.
