The Moray township of Carron lies nearly 6 miles (10 km) southwest of Craigellachie on the River Spey in what has been described as 'one of the most beautiful little glens in Scotland'. It surrounds Dailuaine Distillery which was founded in 1851 by William Mackenzie and is located close to a former railway line that now forms part of the Speyside Way. To the east is Carron House.
