Paible (Paibeil, Phaibeil) Western Isles A location on the west coast of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Paible (Gael: Paibeil or Phaibeil) lies 3 miles (5 km) southeast of the headland of the Aird an Runair and 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Kirkibost Island. Located to the east of Loch Phaibeil, Paible comprises the hamlet of Bayhead (Gael: Ceann a' Bhaigh), which includes the Gaelic-medium Paible School, together with the crofting townships of Knockline (Gael: Cnoc a Lin), Kyles Paible (Gael: Caolas Phaibeil), Balmore (Gael: Baile Mor), Knockintorran (Gael: Cnoc an Torrain) and Paiblesgarry (Gael: Paiblesgearraidh).
