A sizeable crofting township on the northwest coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Bragar (Gael: Bhragair) lies 1¼ miles (2 km) west southwest of Arnol and 2 miles (3 km) east northeast of Shawbost. Bragar benefits from a primary school and there is a whalebone arch in the centre of the village. Erected in 1920, the arch comprises the jaw-bone of a whale which beached locally.
