A village of S Angus Council Area, Tealing lies 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Dundee. The village is noted to a well-preserved late 16th-century doocot, located at Tealing House, and an earth-house (souterrain) dating from the 1st-2nd centuries AD and discovered in 1871 can be found at a farm nearby. Kirkton of Tealing lies a half-mile (1 km) to the west.
The remains of a World War II air force training base, RAF Tealing, are located a half-mile (1 km) to the southwest. It was here that the Russian Foreign Minister, Molotov, landed in 1942 en route to meet Winston Churchill and sign the Anglo-Russian Treaty. Today the base is used as a piggery and chicken broilery.
