A farm on the southeastern shore of Loch Leven in Perth and Kinross, Levenmouth was created from reclaimed land by the Kinross Estate following the lowering of Loch Leven in 1828-32. Originally known as Johntown, the name is anachronistic given that it lies at the source of the River Leven, rather than its outflow. Adjacent to Levenmouth is the Portmoak Airfield of the Scottish Gliding Union.
