Whinnyfold

A cliff-top hamlet on the east coast of Aberdeenshire, Whinnyfold lies a half-mile (0.8 km) west of The Skares and 2 miles (3 km) south of the village of Cruden Bay. Although without a harbour, this was once a fishing village with boats pulled up on the shingle beach below the village. Cruden Bay Booster Station is an oil pumping station located a mile (1.4 km) to the west southwest which is associated with the Forties Pipeline that comes ashore nearby.
