Scottish Deer Centre, Over Rankeilour

A location in central Fife, Rankeilour (also Rankeillour and occasionally Rankeillor) lies 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Cupar and 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Ladybank. There are estates at Over Rankeilour and Nether Rankeilour (Rankeilour), both with mansions. James MacGill of Nether Rankeilour became Lord Clerk Register in 1554, while the Hopes of Rankeillor were noted lawyers. Rankeilour House was built by General Sir John Hope whose monument stands on a nearby hill. The steading at Over Rankeilour has been converted to a retail outlet and Deer Centre.
