A small hamlet on the left bank of the River Spey in Moray, Orton comprises a few houses at a road junction next to the railway line from Keith to Elgin, 5 miles (8 km) west of the former and 7 miles (11 km) southeast of the latter. Orton House, a four-storey tower extended and modernised in 1786 and 1848, lies 1¼ miles (2 km) to the north.
