A hamlet of Central Angus, Padanaram is located 2 miles (3 km) west northwest of Forfar and 3 miles (5 km) southeast of Kirriemuir. The Scottish Midland Junction railway line which ran immediately to the south closed in 1967 and the Padanaram Primary School closed in 1996.
