Conisby

Argyll and Bute

An old township which has been revitalised through the construction of large houses in the first decades of the 21st century, Conisby lies on the slopes of Cnoc Breac, a half-mile (0.8 km) north northwest of Bruichladdich on the Rhinns of Islay (Argyll and Bute). The settlement is shown on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1882 as having a dozen longhouses, along with a smithy and several wells.
